We were developinbg a new technology strategy to show a clear thread between the objectives fo the organisation and how technology can assist. We were determined to ensure that we had ‘Diversity by Design’ in there to make sure that everything we did could be as available and accessible to everyone as we could make it. We went through the Equality Impact Assessment tool and whilst it was extermely challenging and to some extent disappointing (we thought we had done a good job) clearly we had a lot more unconscious bias than we thought. Having said that we managed to get the strategy to a really good place and now we are executing against it.
